he police on Wednesday said six gangsters, including a woman from the Black Spider group, who are also identi- fied as members of the Kirant Janabadi Work- ers' Party, were planning to murder a Jorpati resident and a local businessman Raju Lama.
The six were arrested on Tuesday afternoon from Jorpati.

The police today said six gangsters, including an el- derly woman from the Black Spider group, who are also identified as members of Kirant Janabadi Workers' Party, were planning to murder a Jorpati resident and a local businessman Raju Lama. The six -- Dol- ma Lama alias `Mata', 53, from Jorpati; Bishwash Ghale Magar alias `Dhak Ba- hadur' or Surya Kiranti, 27, from Udayapur; Ishwor Rai, 34, from Khotang, Agam Sher Rai alias `Mukti Hang Kiranti' (34) from Udaya- pur, Sudip Lama Lopchan alias `Susan Kiranti', 34, from Jhapa; and Pancha Ba- hadur Tamang alias `Mukti Kiranti', 31, from Dhading -- were arrested yesterday afternoon from around Lama's residence at Jorpati.Metropolitan Police Commissioner's Office at Ranipokhari said the cul- prits had assembled around Shankarapur Hospital at Narayantar in Jorpati with a motive to kill him for not obliging to pay them a hefty amount of Rs 10 million.
The police also made public the extortionists, who were in possession of two US-made pistols, 12 rounds of cartridges, five sets mobile phone, ID cards belonging to Kirant Janaba- di Workers' Party, the party's literatures, donation and letter pads and anaesthetic spray, among others.
Of those arrested, Agam Sher Rai denied extortion charges in the guise of Black Spider, but said they were operating as per the `in- struction' of the party.
SSP Rana Bahadur Chand, in-charge, Metro- politan Police Crime Divi- sion, Hanumandhoka, said the five had repeatedly is- sued death threats against Lama over the past month for refusing to pay the amount demanded of him.
"A special squad dis- patched from MPCD cor- doned off the area and swooped on the gangsters following a tip-off on Tues- day afternoon," Chand told a press meet.
The arrested have also been accused of extorting businessmen and well-off families, issuing threats for life and abduction for hefty ransom and posing threats to law and order. They are undergoing trial under Arms and Ammunition Act and Donation Act.
Earlier, fours persons af- filiated to KJWP had fled Re- porters Club in Putalisadak after displaying arms amid a press meet on 27 August, 2009.
