Bhattarai bemoans govt relief efforts

DOLAKHA, MAY 11 - Former Prime Minister and UCPN (Maoist) leader Baburam Bhattarai has asked the government to provide Rs. 500,000 each to the earthquake-affected families to provide them with shelter.
Inspecting the damage inflicted by the earthquake in Dolakha district on Monday, former PM Bhattarai said that the government should immediately release Rs. 25,000 each to those affected families and ensure their temporary shelter. “We should ask for sufficient amount if we are to beg with others to provide relief to the affected,” he said. “We should not hesitate to ask for such a notable cause.”
Bhattarai said that the phase-wise announcement of relief package by the government was inadequate and demanded that a national rehabilitation authority should be formed to deal such national crisis.
