Two nabbed with four pistols, revolver


A special squad deployed by the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanumandhoka, today nabbed two gangsters with four pistols, a revolver and 25 rounds of cartridges from Kathmandu.They were arrested after a tip-off served by intelligence sources, leading to their arrest and hauling of arms. Those arrested have been identified as Raju Gurung `Raju Lama' (28), hailing from Haibung4 of Sindhupalchowk and currently residing at Manamaiju1, Kathmandu and Bisheshwor Prasad Shah (32) from Kushaha1 of Saptari.
Raju owns Sambha Dance Restaurant in Putalisadak.
The police have recovered an Italy-made automatic pistol and three rounds of cartridges, 1.55 gram of heroin, a sword and a revolver and its two rounds of cartridges from him. The arms were found hidden in his rented room at Manamaiju.
"He has admitted that he was involved in criminal activities for years," a police official said.
Meanwhile, during a similar police swoop, Bisheshwor from Kanchha Chowk in New Baneshwor was arrested while the latter was trying to sell pistols and 20 rounds of cartridges. They have impounded a Germany-made 9 mm pistol, Italy-made 7.65 and a USAmade 7.65 pistol, respectively.
"An investigation to ascertain whether they had any involvements in recent criminal activities in the Kathmandu Valley is on," the police official said.
The duo has been charged under Arms and Ammunition Act.
